This section contains a series of worksheets that facilitate the planning of grant proposals. Beginning with 3.1A, the worksheets focus on major proposal components such as the needs, goals and objectives, activities (or methods), evaluation, and budget detail. (Note that not all granting agencies will require all of these sections in proposals submitted to them for funding consideration.) In most cases, version "a" of each worksheet is accompanied by a completed version "b" illustrating the planning process. While these examples are drawn from a community service project, the planning process introduced here applies broadly to a wide range of project purposes.
All worksheets found here except for numbers 8 and 9 are from the text Winning Grants Step by Step: The Complete Workbook for Planning, Developing and Writing Successful Proposals, Second edition, by Mim Carlson and the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, copyright 2002 by John Wiley & Sons. Permission to copy has been granted by John Wiley & Sons, Hoboken, NJ, November, 2002.
Worksheets 8 and 9 were designed by staff members in the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research, DePaul University. Formulas included in worksheet 8 will calculate subtotals and totals as expenses are entered within the various categories.
